Rust, Rain & Quiet Things

There’s something magical about seaside cities when it rains. The skies go soft and grey, the world becomes hushed, and tiny details come alive. On this particular morning, everything was soaked in stillness except for the figures cast in bronze.

These curious sculptures by the sea, part creature, part child, seemed to be whispering to each other through time and tide. One half-submerged in sand, the other reaching out in a silent gesture. I found myself wondering what they were saying. Or perhaps, what they were remembering.

Behind them, a woman walked her dog, unaware of the quiet drama at her heels. The path ahead stretched endlessly forward, wet and glistening. But my eyes stayed on the moment just behind her: the little stories we pass by and never quite notice.

There’s a tenderness to places like this. A reminder that even on the greyest days, art waits for us in the streets if we choose to see it.
